Lesson observations can cause a wave of negative emotions among us teachers. No one likes the feeling of being judged on their craft, but there are ways you can put a positive spin on them and get the most out of the experience of lesson observations. Listen to today's episode to learn how!

I sent a friend request to your Facebook group stating that I am a substitute teacher with two credentials but I do almost annually take the long-term sub position where I am there daily. Any tips for long-term subs? I enjoy your podcast so much really benefit from the encouragement especially Because I have low vision and accommodate myself with visual aids but try to focus on the job and students beyond my disability.

Hi Susan! I'm glad to learn you're enjoying the podcast and it's so inspirational to hear you're not letting your vision hold you back!

I've never done long-term subbing myself, but have substituted many lessons in my time!

I think if I were to sub full time not knowing what I would be getting each day, my top tip would be to definitely carry an arsenal of generic lesson ideas that could be used. If technology is available, I'd lean towards a range of digital presentations with activities, riddles, activities etc or games like Kahoot! are always a hit!

You've been accepted to the FB group now, so do please ask more there if you have any more questions! I could also direct you to another FB group especially for subs that you might be interested in. :)
